Research Interests
My background as a direct social work practitioner, in the fields of child welfare and medical social work, has allowed me to witness the wide array of social, personal, and institutional factors that make it challenging for individuals to maintain sobriety. My primary research interests are identifying the types of social and clinical supports that have the strongest success rate in contributing to long-term sobriety. I have prior research experience working as a coordinator for a research study that examined the benefits of family therapy versus nonfamily treatment for adolescents with substance use and mental health concerns. I am currently the research coordinator for the following R01 grant: Dynamic, real-time prediction of alcohol use lapse using mHealth technologies.
