Calibration Procedure For The Alco-Sensor IV
Note: You must have a new mouthpiece, an approved calibration standard and the Function Switch Key (attached with Velcro to the bottom of the intoximeter box), in order to proceed with the calibration.
Step#1: Remove battery cover to expose the function switches (F1-F3)
Step#2: Depress and hold F1 while inserting a new mouthpiece into the Alco-Sensor IV
· Four solid blocks should be displayed to show that the instrument is in the calibration mode
· The instrument will follow regular start-up procedures
· When the Zero result from the blank test is still displayed use the function key to depress and hold down F3
1. The instrument is now checking it’s temperature
2. If the temperature is in range, it will display a 3-digit reading, which is the reading of the last standard used for calibration
3. When this number appears release the F3 button
Step#3: When SET is displayed press the SET button
· The last calibration standard will be displayed again
· Use the Calibration tool to adjust the number UP(F1) and Down(F2) until the value displayed matches that of the calibration standard used for this calibration
· When the standard value and the value displayed match, press the F3 button
· CAL must be displayed before the standard

Step#4: Take an Accuracy Test

Step#5: Observe the 3-digit reading
· The instrument will automatically make the necessary calibration adjustments
Step#6: When SET appears, press the SET button
· When you hear the BEEP, remove the mouthpiece by pressing the RELEASE button, wait 3minutes before performing an accuracy test
Step#7: Verify The Calibration
· Run an accuracy test
· The result should be within .003 of the expected value of the gas standard
