Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ)

The Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ) is a 16-item questionnaire used to measure worrying in individuals.


Item Coding

The PSWQ consists of 16 items that are rated on a 5-point Likert scale as follows:

The PSWQ yields one total score.  Description of the scales and item loadings are listed below.  Scale scores are calculated as the sum of respective items.  Underlined items are reverse scored.
