Fenz-Epstein Questionnaire (FEQ)

The Fenz-Epstein Questionnaire (FEQ) is a 160-item questionnaire used to measure manifest anxiety.  Participants are told to read each statement carefully, and decide how often it applies to them.



Item Coding
The FEQ consists of 160 items that are each rated on a five-point likert scale as follows:

Scales

The FEQ yields 6 primary scales, and three subscales.  The autonomic arousal, striated muscle tension, and feelings of anxiety subscales comprise the total anxiety scale.  Descriptions of the scales and item loadings are listed below.
