Anger Expression Questionnaire (AEX)

The Anger Expression Questionnaire (AEX) yields a total anger score, as well as 3 scale scores (In, Out, Control).

Item Coding

The AEX consists of 20 items that are rated on a 4-point Likert scale as follows:

Almost never	Sometimes	Often	Almost always
1	2	3	4

Scales

The AEX yields 3 primary scales and one total score.  Description of the scales and item loadings are listed below.  Scale scores are calculated as the sum of respective items.  No items are reverse scored.
