Research Interests:

My research interests include the effects of alcohol on emotion regulation and cognitive processes; in particular, I hope to study (employing EEG/ERP and fMRI) the mechanisms by which acute alcohol intoxication can lead to dysregulated behavior such as violence, sexual risk-taking, and general impulsivity.  My most recent project examined the differential effects of alcohol on fear and anxiety. (you can view a poster on this study by clicking [PDF] )  The aim of this work is to better understand the neural pathways and processes by which alcohol affects emotion.
